Do you find yourself drawn to certain crystals? Or maybe when you hold a crystal you feel certain energy within you, a connection to the crystal. Some people are just drawn to crystals by looking at them as if the crystal is calling to them.

Some people find that a crystal or combination of different crystal help brings about a feeling of wellness and energy. This could be brought about due to the placebo effect in the body and mind together with the power of positive thinking.

Crystals

A crystal’s appearance depends upon the natural characteristics of its type and the conditions in which it grows. Some take on strange shapes, some are very small, and others grow very large, developing over thousands of years

 Gemstones

Natural processes create beautiful crystals that can be made into gems by cutting and faceting. To be a gemstone, a mineral species must be declared an object of beauty, rarity, and durability. which, are then polished to make jewellery.

Listening to what the Scientists say

We do know however that has been proven through research over thousands of years that crystals have a proven and undeniable track record of the powerful healing properties of crystals

Solids (as well as gas and liquid) are made up of atoms, molecules and/or ions. These particles possess energy. They move in all three states – gas-solid or liquid.

Solids are made up of particles that are compacted together in a regular formation with a small space between them which allows a small amount of movement which can cause a vibration.

Crystals do vibrate as can all solids. An example of this is through the power of Quartz which is used to power watches. Quartz is piezoelectric which can generate an electric charge when under stress. Quartz is commonly used as a crystal oscillator – an electric circuit using the mechanical resonance of a vibrating piezoelectric crystal.

What are minerals?

Minerals are the building blocks of rocks. Most rocks are a combination of minerals but there are a select few that contain one kind of mineral. For example, granite contains quartz feldspar and mica.

Most minerals grow as crystals formed underground from three-dimensional repeating patterns of atoms. The process is called atomic bonding.

Feldspar

Feldspar is the name given to a group of naturally occurring aluminosilicate minerals containing varying amounts of potassium, sodium, calcium and/or lithium. The feldspar group of minerals is by far the most abundant group of minerals in the Earth’s crust, making up about 50% of all rocks.

Micas

are a group of minerals whose outstanding physical characteristic is that individual mica crystals can easily be split into extremely thin elastic plates. This characteristic is described as perfect basal cleavage
